FIFA World Cup 2014
Premier League 2013/14
Tottenham 3-0 Dinamo Tbilisi
Smashing result knocked out the Georgian Champions from the Europe League.
The British side, the stronger in the Europe League Play Offs due to their coefficient, had the qualification guaranteed after their smashing success in Tbilisi by 0-5. The returning match in the White Line Hart was as expected, completely dominated by the hosts.
The “Spurs” managed to score three times in this match, with strong offensive power showed specially by Jermain Defoe and Lewis Holtby.
The first goal was somehow polemic, one Georgian player was injured on the pitch and the hosts never gave up to the fair play, actually they attacked from the injured player’s side and scored. But the teammates were not capable to show their disappointment to the referee, they didn’t even try.
Despite the power of the English team, and the difference between the classes of both championships, this result on aggregate seems very difficult to digest.Tottenham 3-0 Dinamo Tbilisi(Agg: 8-0) White Hart Lane Stadium – London, England.Goals: 1-0 Jermain Defoe (40’), 2-0 Jermain Defoe (45’) and 3-0 Lewis Holtby (69’).Booked: Sandro and Jermain Defoe (Tottenham); Georgi Merebashvili (Dinamo Tbilisi).
